Olijoy Magnetic Vertical Climber Review & Benefits
Loved by Fitness Professionals & Athletes
When it comes to choosing home fitness equipment, many users are looking for something that’s compact, affordable, and easy to move—especially if space is limited. Even in larger home gyms, bulky machines that cost thousands of dollars aren’t always the most practical option. That’s where compact cardio machines like vertical climbers come in.

While vertical climbers tend to fly under the radar compared to treadmills, ellipticals, or rowers, they offer a surprisingly effective cardio workout. Designed to mimic the motion of climbing, these machines combine a low-impact experience with lower-body engagement, helping to elevate heart rate while working multiple muscle groups at once.
Olijoy’s Magnetic Resistance Vertical Climber aims to fill the gap between high-end gym equipment and portable home-use machines. Priced at $599, it’s positioned as a lightweight, space-saving alternative to larger stair machines like the StairMaster. The question, of course, is whether it delivers a workout that matches its promise—and its price point.
Is the Stair Climber Sport Worth It?
While this is certainly a great deal for a stair climber, there are a few features that you should know about before making a purchase. After all, no machine is the perfect fit for everyone, and this is no different.

Workout Experience
It feels like a mix between a stair stepper and an elliptical—similar to a budget Bowflex Max Trainer. The glide is smooth on the upward push, activating glutes and thighs, while the downward return stays controlled. There’s a light grinding noise during use, and at higher resistance, the pedals can feel slightly sticky at the bottom. Not perfectly seamless, but overall solid for the price—especially for lower-body training.
Durability and Construction
For durability and construction, Lindsey gave this stair climber a 2.5-out-of-5 star rating.
Overall, Lindsay said it was pretty stable, although when she thought more about the way the manual incline adjustment was built, she felt it wasn’t the most secure setup. She wouldn’t necessarily trust the safety for those closer to the 275-pound weight capacity

The Ergonomics
While she said this worked very well for a low-impact cardio workout, especially for a budget-friendly climber, we noted that the adjustments weren’t perfect. If you want to change the incline, you’ll also need to change the handlebar angle, along with the screen, so there are a lot of knobs to loosen when you need to change something. There are three incline and footrest positions to choose from, and you can adjust the screen by unscrewing the knob and turning it to your preferred angle.

The resistance is controlled by a separate dial, allowing you to choose from 8 levels to match your workout intensity—from light cardio to more challenging climbs.

Technology Benefits and Conveniences
In terms of tech features, this mini-stepper keeps things simple—which is expected for a budget-friendly machine. It includes a small, basic screen with Bluetooth connectivity that displays key workout metrics like Scan, Time, Distance, Calories, Step Count, Total Count, SPM (Steps per Minute), Watt, and Time/500m. However, it doesn’t include a heart rate sensor or the ability to save workout data between sessions.
There’s also a built-in device holder, so you can place your phone or tablet to stream workout classes, music, or videos while you exercise.

When you purchase the stair climber, you’ll receive 30 days of free access to Olijoy’s online streaming workout platform. If you're not satisfied, you’re eligible for a full refund.
